Home prices and mortgage sizes in Singapore have climbed over the past five years, but buyers are increasingly using cash and CPF savings to fund their down payments.

Nearly 8 in 10 buyers of new private property launches took out loans of at least $1 million in the first half of 2026, double the proportion in 2021. Yet mortgagee-sale listings have also hit their highest half-yearly level since 2021

On The Big Story, Hongbin Jeong speaks with Clive Chng, Associate Director at Redbrick Mortgage Advisory, to find out why buyers are borrowing a smaller proportion of their property’s value, what’s driving the rise in mortgagee sales, and whether financial risks are building beneath Singapore’s property market.

On The Agenda, Hongbin Jeong speaks with AHMA app founders Abhishek Paranjape, Hazel Low and Aishwarya Goyal about how their own observations inspired the idea, how AI could ease the burden on caregivers, and why more young Singaporeans may need to think about caregiving as they grow older.

A Singaporean man has sparked an online debate after questioning why some men dress so casually when going on dates with their partners, from slippers and shorts to faded oversized T-shirts.

While some believe dressing well shows effort and consideration, others feel comfort should come first.

On What’s Trending, Hongbin Jeong, Nadiah Koh and Alexandra Parada discuss whether dressing up for a date still matters, and whether you prefer to dress to impress or simply wear whatever you want.
