Michael Geist, Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-Commerce Law at the University of Ottawa, says "the poorly conceived Digital Safety Commission lacks even basic rules of evidence, can conduct secret hearings, and has been granted an astonishing array of powers with limited oversight."
