  • Energy stocks prices got a boost on the back of rising oil prices, gaining 2.6% on the day
  • Woodside gained 3.1%, Santos was up 2.4% and Ampol lifted 1.4%
  • BHP rising 0.9%, Rio Tinto up 0.1% to $125.96 and South 32 up 1.6% to $3.73
  • Gold miners Newmont up 1.3% to $78.21, and Regis Resources up 1% to $2.03.
  • Hotel Property Investments closed up 3 cents to $3.76 after rejecting Charter Hall and Hostplus’ takeover offer of $3.65 per share.
  • Qantas down 2.7% today to $6.98.
  • Wesfarmers and Coles both fell around 2%, with Car Group tumbling 2.7% to $36.39
