Fruit & veg titans Costa have received a takeover proposal, but could there be a bidding war around the sale?

• The energy sector rose 1.2 per cent. 
• Woodside Energy shares rallied 1.4 percent
• Whitehaven Coal climbed 2.4 percent
• Karoon increased 2 percent
• Yancoal added 1.7 per cent
• Commonwealth Bank shares rallied 1.3 per cent
• Westpac rose 1.2 per cent
• National Australia Bank increased 1.3 per cent 
• ANZ jumped 1.2 per cent
• Mirvac Group shares increased 2.2 per cent
• Lendlease rose 1.8 per cent
• Stockland up 1.1 percent
• Goodman advanced 0.7 percent
• Costa shares rallied 12.1 per cent after it received a takeover proposal
• Rio was down 1% to $114.29
• Fortescue giving up its early gains to close at $22.07
• BHP also down a touch but still closed above $45.
