The Australian sharemarket managed to snap a three-day losing streak today, as a glimmer of hope for an end to the Iran war gave investors a reason to step back into the fray. The ASX 200 ended the session up 20 points to finish at 8,481.

The ASX 200 finished the session up a thumping 155 points, or 1.9 per cent, to close at 8,534. We’ve seen about 300 billion dollars wiped off this market since the conflict began a month ago, so today’s bounce-back is a much-needed shot in the arm for investors.
