The opposite of panicking when the stock market declines is called 'Irrational Exuberance.'  Dr. Susan Laubach says both can be just as bad for your bottom line. 

Dr. Laubach says financial advisors will always tell you the good things about  investments, but you should always ask "what can go wrong."
