Please weapoing the Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Tanya Nolan, How you doing?

Tanya?

Hey, what a wonderful introduction and thank you for having me again on your show.

We know, it's so fun to watch and listen to somebody as you see the journey. And when we first brought you on the show, you know, the predominant part of our conversation was about your daycares and how your daycare. Let's get that part of the entrepreneur role in your life out the way.

Your two daycares in Texas. How are they coming along?

It's coming along really really well. I'm thankful.

I'm grateful the kiddos, loving keeping them busy with the activities and of course learning is the number one thing, you know them ABC's one, two, three, Science, et cetera, et cetera. So far, the kids love it, so I haven't gotten any complaints. I did bless them with Valentine's streets. All of them got flowers, candy.

You know.

They was excited about the activities and we even made it words. They were able to make their parents something as well. So it's going well with that.

Well, you know, why are you an entrepreneur, miss Nolan?

You're because you're you know, you're a very talented singer, okay, and that producer, But why are you an entrepreneur?

I love being in control.

I do not like anyone, you know, telling me what to do unless I want them to, you know what I mean. But other than that, I like to be in control. I like to make decisions. I'm a strong delegator and I'm great at it. So I kind of knew that early on as a child working for other people, and I discovered early on that was not going to be for me. I was going to constantly either get fired or I was just really going to be miserable for the rest.

Of my life if I work for anybody.

I knew at an early age that I needed to be my own boss.

I knew it.

So so it's important to people to hear that because I myself, you know, I worked for IBM for five years, two years and a half years undergraduate. In two years two and a half years graduate, now realized that IBM was not for me. But it's a lot of people are afraid out there, are intimidated by the process of change, fear that that they make a decision lead this quality job, that what's that next step, where's that benefit?

What? How could you give people advice on that?

Telling you about when you're at that crossroad about indecisiveness.

Step out on I'm gonna say this, step believe in yourself, step out on faith, put that fear behind.

Because we go through things every day any anyways.

So that's just one one situation that you need to go ahead and tackle and and and and master. Learn the lesson, get get, get through it, pass the test so you can get to the next lesson.

But that's the very one that.

You need to pass very very fast, because that's talking about your money. That's talking about your career. Tackle that on, tackle it hand on. And when you haven't the situations like that, if it's concerning money, have multiple streams of income.

I don't have this one hustle. I cannot, I will not.

It's not that I cannot, I won't allow myself to depend on one hustle. I don't need to always have multiple streams of income and get excited about making money. Do not let nobody tell you you feel sour about making as much money as possible.

See you fired up right now about this multiple streams of income.

I'm exciting. Exciting is not going away?

Okay, Why because we hear people talk about that. That's the term people always say about like branding. You know, it's almost like a throw away word because people say it so much and motivational speeches.

But you live a life of multiple streams of income.

That important Because you said, Rishan, I don't like nobody bas to me, so I said, I'm gonna be my own boss. That's easier said than done. Talk to us about multiple strings of income and the importance.

Well, well, first of all, I gotta say this. I get excited about it making money in my sleep. You should multiple you get excited about it. I just believe in the power of multiple streams of income because relying on just one source of revenue can be limiting, and diversifying allows me to build long term stability, create new opportunities, and it also, you know, it expands my impact, whether it's through music, business ventures, real estate, or other investments that I do. Just having multiple income streams gives me the freedom to stay creative Sean and Roshawan, and also it allows me to stay in control of my career and whatever I have going on.

I like to make that final decision.

I always bet on me because if it doesn't go the way that I think that I was hoping for it to go, it still falls on me, and I'm okay with that, because all I'm going to do is restrategize because I'm like, I'm gonna constantly say to myself the next time, it's going to work, and I expect it to work. So even when it comes to multiple streams of income is extremely important, especially in today's time, we know what's going on. I don't really play the political game, so I try to say, focused on whatever the investments.

That I have at hand.

Even when it comes to employees, team members, delegate, strategize, be disciplined by writing it down on what your plans are. You need to know what you want to do. Try different things, be in different rooms, meet different people.

Network.

Even if you are someone that says, man, I like to stay inside. I don't like to do this, and you got to get out of the uncomfortableness and you got to do it.

Now, that's that being said to you know that a lot of people step in and go, girl, you doing too much.

You need to sit down, find a place and get quiet.

Because let's talk about hit song like Water, upcoming new song Blessings. You got two very profitable daycare centers in the state of Texas. One of them is the largest daycare center in the state of check.

And then you have a producing studio. You don't record company.

I do.

Now.

You don't think you're too busy, You don't think you're weighing yourself down, You don't think you need to find something else and just be quiet, get on.

It's my passion.

And the thing about it is, we only have twenty four hours in a day, so I'm careful when it comes to my time.

You know, my phone is constantly ringing.

Some individuals I may give two or three minutes, some i'm gonna give fifteen and twenty, and some gets a whole hour or two.

It all depends on what we're talking about.

Right, I'm just keeping it real because we only have twenty four hours in a day, and out of that twenty four hours, I have to give me some sleep. Don't, in my opinion, don't listen to nobody when they say I'm asleep. I'm asleep when I'm dead while I'm trying to live. So I'm gonna give my sleep right now, within it, and I'm gonna figure it out. So I'm gonna give my eight to ten hours asleep. The rest of them hours is gonna be you know, work and some pleasure, you know, because this is the only life that I got.

I matter.

Okay, So I'm going to treat myself, bless myself. I'm gonna get my sleep, and I'm gonna make my money too. Who's to say I can't do it all. I'm doing it all. And it's always gonna be for me what's next. It keeps me going, what's next?

What it's next? Even if God blesses me to.

Be eighty years old, eighty one years old and my right state of mind, it's always gonna be for me, what's next. If I haven't climbed the tree yet by the time I'm eighty one, I promise you I'm gonna climb that tree, because that may be what's the next?

Come on now now like water, Okay, Now, I'm gonna just let everybody know. I have a very friendly relationship with Tanya. I'm a fan. Okay, Now, this is what a fan does. Okay, I'm driving in my car.

Right. She lives in the Houston, Texas area. I live in Atlanta.

I'm all ahead of her, right, and then right on my screen on my radio, like water, Tanya Nola.

I take a picture of that I scream, I call us.

And I could have been more proud because I know we talked about the song, but it an't hit airwaves yet, and when I saw it, I was just so happy talk about that song. And that's just another form of your drive to be successful, to drive relationship.

Because there's Raheem devon right.

That's right.

Rahim wrote the song KP and Frank Oh Frank Rose KP from the colleagues and Frank Rose produced the track. The original track which is a getting a strong love on these radio stations. And when it comes to the remix, which is what I have out right now for jazz radio, it's a remix took out you know, quite a bit of the vocals. That's on to Wrestle radio right now as we speak, and it's moving up the charts pretty fast right now.

I'm excited about it.

So I know I probably sounded silly when I when I was screaming on your.

Phone, all that excitement saw it all. Well, whatever, yes I have, I've seen it all.

But what I just love is with hard work and I love the fact that you're just an honest person, Tanya.

Yes, I get talk for that at times.

You know and that honesty pays off. So let's talk about the steps of that song. Because I heard it on Serious Exemp Channel forty seven.

That's what they play. They love You. They broke a song when I heard it on the radio.

When they broke it because they have this little segment call they profile a star.

And they were featuring you, and I was like, wow, this is hot.

Talk about what that song has done for you in twenty twenty four lead it into twenty twenty five.

Oh man, it led me to do like they wanted more. They wanted more of that feel so and when I say feel fee l, they wanted more of that feel. So I'm like, okay, let's just go ahead and try the remix because I did a remix for one of my others a couple of other singles, and it worked really well for me.

Tanya Noland, come on, Texas girl, Now you try to be like October London.

He all over jazz, he all over R and B, he everywhere. So that's what you trying to do, you know, the remixing on jazz. Come on now, talk to me.

I'm doing it. I'm doing it. I mean, I like the remix.

The remix, which is Vissoul Forsona and the brand New Heavies.

They had a hit called news Up I forgot how that's the name of the song. But I'm excited about it.

I'm happy about it, and it's doing very well and it's only been out for about four weeks now.

That's so let's let's let's let let me just kind of combine everything here, because you know, you got the wine, so you see, you see you you got like water right like, which is already kind of it's romantic, y'all like water.

Okay, let's just.

Stepped into the jazz remix. So let's talk about this wine. This Nolan wine Got a Fly?

Come on, how did that come about?

Because we didn't talk about that last time, so I assume it was still in the works but it had not been released.

Well, you know, it's an it was crafted by Signature SIPs.

And she's in one of my videos, so let's celebrate.

It's called Let's Celebrate, and she this is what she does wine, And she asked me, is that something that I would consider? And I'm I'm like, you know, I drink wine on an occasion, and I'm like, you know, my semis with a little Chris, but I told her, yeah, so it's a it's the name of the wine. I named it butterfly because butterflies are all different and I'm fascinated by butterflies. And and when it comes to the taste, it's a tequila wine, and I wanted it to be whereas it doesn't you feel you don't feel guilty when you drink. I'm talking to diabetic, so I'm careful when it comes to sugar and take. So I wanted a particular wine that does not have table sugar, the white sugar. The brown sugar is strictly a gayvey that came from the cactus plant. Because a guy that does not spike my sugar at all. So I wasn't best to hav your online where I can feel.

What am I dealing with entrepreneurship. I gotta come talk to you. I gotta have my science biology book with you. Not all this good stuff.

Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making Conversations Masterclass, hosted by Rashaan McDonald. Now let's go to church.

Now it's time to go to church.

Let's go to church. No lessons.

How did that song come about? And I didn't see that coming, you know, you know, the blessing of the song was sent to me early to get my opinion on the song. And I said, they had an R and B flavor to it, yes, And I said, because I never you know, gospel is interesting.

Because it has a beat to it. And you know, I would like to say.

My man, Kurt Franklin, who I believe you're going to be be interviewed in the upcoming weeks here and Kurk broke the mold because he started remixing a lot of hotter R and B songs. Now I can't get get married and Mary credit too, they way back.

Oh yeah, my feet come on, tackles.

On my feet now? But how did you come up with this beat?

And why did you go in the gospel right route immediately after you had such a hit song like like Water.

Well, you know, I've always believed that every challenge in life carries a hidden blessing and my journey has been no exception whatsoever. My first gospel song, Blessing was it was born out of a d need to express gratitude for the guidance and graces I've experienced. And it's just even during my darkest moments, and I just felt compelled to share that message, hoping to remind others that there's always slight.

Hope and a reason to be thankful.

And this song right here is just the celebration of fate, resilience and the unexpected gifts that life offers us every day.

It just it blesses me. When I listen to the song, I get emotional.

On occasion, I get emotional, especially when it comes to that second verse. That second verse, it came true from my heart. And because people will let you down, but God would never let you down. We may not understand things, why things happen, don't understand why we cannot understand it. This is and that's when hope and faith comes in and words you got to tell yourself keep pushing, keep pushing, and expect blessings. You can get up in the morning. That means you got a new start, You got a new chance to make the wrong right or make the right right right, right right, just keep pushing and keep going. And when it comes to blessing is a true love letter to my creator that I am so thankful when I'm saying I don't deserve this, I don't deserve this all of the goodness, the way you have love for me despite my history. It's like, so much is going on in the world with so many people, and I'm untouched.

Why me?

Well, you know, here's here's the thing that I want to make sure everybody understands about telling you know them. Okay, because we're about to get to the record label and you want to hear her talk fire. We about to hear her talk fire because in the record business it's dominated by men, and women are treated sometimes like just video women. You know, you stood over there and be quiet. We got some beat for you. Because that's how you make your money. That's where you make your money. You make your money and publishing, you make your money.

In these studios.

You get five percent, you produce it, you be ten percent whatever your cut is on that song, and you be making money forever.

Okay, you go.

That is as she said in bed Sleeping, making money, talk about why it was important to get in that side of the business with your record label and tell everybody the name of your record label.

The name of my label is art Sessions, Art Sessions, art s E S s IO n Z. And the reason why I named it art session is because music is an arts. Mean, when I'm in a studio behind the mic, it's a session. So I just put it together our sessions. Being in this industry, you know, and being a woman amongst you know, men that's carrying a load and a whole lot of power can be challenging at times because they expect us at time to go make a coffee and I'm quick to say I like my black please, I'm going to say that, and they're gonna be pissed off. Oh she wanted them once, And then you be labeled as mean, difficult, okay, and in challenging because it's certain things you're just not going to.

Accept.

So those are some of the challenging in yourself, in itself and in the word getting around mad.

You know, A B, C, D and E. Now you're not gonna be able to just get.

One for nets me in that way without me for netsing you back. Honestly, if we're gonna play this game. Because if we're gonna play this game, and I'm seeing it as a game, I intend to win, right right, Whether it's me.

In a sense.

Giving you what I think that you wanted, what you want to hear, but remember you started playing this game, so let me give you and say what you want to hear. But at the end, you gonna see I wasn't the one that was finess. It was you during your downtime when you're reflecting that day and you're thinking those of things.

Right, let me ask you this to you because it goes back to relationships.

That's top body, will you if.

You want to overcome that level of ignorance, then you need to establish relationships. And relationships is tied to respect, and relationships is tied to people believe it in you.

Because of the talents that you bring to the table.

Now let's connect that in you have this group of people over here only see you physically. Then you have people over here respect you for your hard work, respect you for your talents, respect you for the relationship and the honesty that you bring to a relationship. To talk to the young ladies who in this industry don't understand that you've got to control your your brand in order to.

Have a future in this business. Floors yours turn.

That's right. You do have to control your brand, remain professional.

Refrain from using potty of you having a potty mouth, because I do have one, okay, but refrain from using it so they cannot say, oh MG, you being so unprofessional because you use a curse word.

Don't don't even much give them that.

Stay professional, say lady like, stay true to who you are and and still get your point across and know how to just you know, if need be, block that person from all your phones, if you need to block the number, and if they call, call with call and they get through anyways after that phone act as if you did not hear them, to make a quick real click.

I'd rather you do that.

Then to lose your cal go off and tell a person I'm just being.

Real with you.

When you know you ain't wrong yet, You ain't not you have not reached that level of materity yet. When you know these things about yourself, try other tactics. Okay, because I've learned the hard way about pissing certain people off. You know what I mean, ma'am you know they can make things, not saying that they can stop your blessings, but they can slow it down the tag bit. You probably still gonna get that blessing, but they can slow it down a tag bit. So control yourself, stay true to yourself, remain professional, and always plan your next move. If it's not work this time does not mean it's not gonna work the next time. And when people come to you and talking about girl, that's impossible, you ain't gonna be aby to do that.

They don't do that. These these that's not you breaking the rules. That's not how this go It goes this way. No, if you got the thought.

And you want to try this and this is on your own dime, don't let them people tell you what should be, how it's been doing, and how it goes, try it, try it and keep it pushing, and if it don't work, try something else.

Because of the fact that the dynamics of being an individual, because fear runs this world. Fear of I'm not gonna get another chance, fear that I'm too old, fear that the people think I'm rude. And I always tell people you cannot be rude if you're just trying to pursue your dream. If somebody blocking you, then guess what if you ask them to get out the way. Sometimes you gotta like nudge them out the way because they will keep blocking and keep blocking and keep blocking, and they will push back on you even though you're trying to pursue your dream, even though they telling you they trying to provide you with the opportunity. And so I myself Rashean McDonald, I met tellya know in a basic interview and thought and feel she is the world to me. I'm the same Rasean McDonald, just reading the resume. Just look just google me. When I heard her song on the radio like Water, I screamed like I had never heard the song in my life because I know how special she is, how special she is, what a fighter she is, and that's import So that's why I came on this interview talking about the fact that you know why, talking about her daycare centers, talking about now her record company, talking about her upcoming next hits, lessons. That's what this is all about. Why do you feel or what do you feel the next steps are for you?

In twenty twenty.

Five, oh.

Man, more and more and more, Sky's the limit is just it's so much in me and that the opportunities are coming and what I continuously do when I see my colleagues, my peers, that's doing very very well. I here with them, Like when you you gave me some good news recently, mister McDonald recently, and I was so.

Happy for you.

I was, I was, I was, I was floored because I'm like man one of us again. It's pressing through, it's going upward, and it just made me smile and it also inspired me. I'm like, he's doing things that he's checking off his his to do list, his to do list, and it's like I'm doing the same thing. I don't know, but Sean, once I reach these goals, and I do have some, I have quite a bit. I have a lot of big ones and I have a lot of small ones, combination of boats, which is great. It's always gonna be what's the next. But I get to get to say what's next and get to do whatever it's next as long as I wake up.

The next morning.

I'm gonna say this again, it needs to always be after you accomplished a gold what's next, what's next?

Get to sleep, and then it's what's next?

Love it?

I create things all the time, and I have to be careful on who I share it. But because from my understanding, if I had that thought of that, that dream is planned in my head, somebody else got it too.

Who's gonna act on it first? Who's gonna act on it first? It needs to be me? So it's the only one me.

So it's like I've been trying to find people and I've been I've asked for this.

I've asked God for this, to put people in my.

Life that are way smarter than me, because I want to learn from them. But the individuals that in my life that are way smarter than me, I want to be able to give too, because we all are being used in some kind of way. Everybody. If you can't be used, then you are useless for real. I mean, so that's how I say it. I'm even being used. But let you use me in a disrespectful way, and hey, don't don't Hey, don't.

With it either.

Let me know what plans say. Hey, Hey Tanya, I need to pick your brain.

Hey I need to know how you did this A B DC, ABC D and E.

I have more respect for you in that way because you came to me real and real. So it's like I get to make that decision if I want to do that or not. And if I make the decision to help you, trust and believe me, you're going to excel because God has put people in my life, women, young women aside, whereas I know, I'm meant to mentor them, but it's only won me. So once again, early on in the conversation, when I say I may give somebody two minutes, somebody fifteen minutes, somebody thirty, somebody maybe an hour, depends on what we're talking about. But when it comes to these young ladies, I do give them my time, but guess what is scheduled and they look forward to it. And if they missed that schedule, they better give me a good, good excuse my languagee.

A great excuse, And let me say this real fast. I would say this.

It's like one of them told me they grandmother died twice. The same lady she forgot about the damn lie. Now I just told her so many time. Hey, if you gonna lie, the lie needs matter, right, the lie better matter.

That lie didn't matter.

None of you lie two times about this grandmother. So I came into her no more.

Absolutely, that's yo, Tyya Noland like water her new hit song Blessings. A true entrepreneur, a true pioneer, a true believer and opportunity. Like she said, I always tell people that too. There are twenty four hours of the day. I learned how to use each hour and she had the exact same model.
