Data privacy is crucial in this day and age. How do you know who has legal access to your credit card details that you've stored in your shopping cart?

Some major changes on the horizon in terms of regulators over how data is kept by companies.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) proposed by the European Commission will strengthen and unify data protection for individuals within the European Union (EU).

It will also address the export of personal data outside the EU.

With three months left before GDPR comes into force, businesses in Singapore that deal with customers or employees in the European Union need to comply with the new legislations.

Only about 10% of organisations in Singapore have a plan in place for GDPR.
