Women make up 51 per cent of the population, yet they are a "minority" on stage. In 2016, Bloomberg reported that male speakers and male panels still dominate conferences in the US at a ratio of 2:1, and this has not changed over the years are men still make up 68 per cent of event speakers. Even in a women-dominated industry like education, only 40 per cent of women stand on stage during education conferences.
