Scientists in the UK predict that natural redheads could become increasingly rare, potentially disappearing by the year 2100. Only about 4% of the world’s population carries the red-hair gene, which is recessive. When redheads have children with partners who carry the dominant brown-hair gene, the red-hair gene is diluted. At this rate, red hair could become extremely rare or even extinct by the end of the century.
