The world is changing. Workforces are becoming more nimble and flexible as people try and create balance between work and life.
But are they? This is certainly the hype we are reading. But in reality, are organisations (outside of Silicon Valley) really providing flexible working environments.
We talk with Emily Rennes whos has been able to negotiate a very flexible remote working arrangement with the organisation she works with.
Emily resides on the sunny Gold Coast but the head office of her organisation is in Melbourne.
Emily says that she values the trust that her boss - who created a more flexible working environment for the benfit of her own situation - has placed in her. As a result, she believes she is more diligent about getting work done, does not really have 'sickies' and her communication and reporting skills are second to none as she aims to let people know that she is actually getting work done.
So what's involved in creating a job that will better suite your lifestyle?
Emily talks us through the ins and outs of her role, the tech she uses and how she managed to score such a gig!
