A Prayer to Rise and Shine with Stacey Thacker
Have you ever felt disappointment during the Christmas season? I'm sure we all have. In today’s devotion, we begin the second week of December’s readings with a reminder to rise and shine—not in our own strength, but in the light of God’s glory. We hope this prayer encourages you to embrace the season with joy, not because of what may or may not be under the tree, but because the Light of the world has come. As reflectors of His light, we’re invited to shine brightly for others to see.
Reference: Isaiah 60:1
Prayer: Father, thank you for the glory you have given Jesus. You have extended that same glory to us because we are in him and he is in us. He prayed it would be true before he went to the cross. May we wake up today with a fresh desire to shine because your light has come. In Jesus' name, amen.
