NSW Police have confirmed a man has been arrested after an assault with a corkscrew on Sydney's Northern Beaches.

After causing a minor injury to a volunteer, the man then started ripping down political banners that had been erected, before fleeing the scene.

Federal Vice President of the Liberal Party, Teena McQueen, spoke to Luke Grant about the incident.
