Mike is LIVE from Chicken Salad Chick near Baptist Road, where he talks with franchisee Kirsten Garrett about the concept’s move to Sunday hours, popular chicken salad flavors, catering, Quick Chick take-home options and the realities of growing a restaurant business in Colorado. The show also covers major restaurant developments across the Front Range, including the expansion of Berry’s Basket Cafe into Topeka, construction of The Brinkerhoff near Ford Amphitheater, upcoming Louie’s Pizza anniversary specials and plenty of local dining recommendations. Mike welcomes former Zeb’s Barbecue owner Mike Kirkwood to discuss his new book God Unshackled, then later shares Finding Gobi, the true story of an ultramarathon runner and the stray dog that changed his life. Along the way, the conversation ranges through food trends, Halloween candy, holiday dining plans, books, travel and upcoming Restaurant Show events. It’s a wide-ranging three hours of Colorado restaurant news, personal stories, food recommendations and the kind of off-the-menu conversation that has defined The Restaurant Show for more than three decades.

Since 1991, my Restaurant Shows have entertained people all along the Front Range on radio and television. The shows offer a knowledgeable, yet lighthearted, look at the ever changing restaurant scene throughout the Denver metropolitan area and Colorado Springs.

The shows occasionally venture into other areas like travel, movies, books, and sports. Groups of listeners also join me throughout the year for enjoyable vacations to places like Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, and more. Authors interviewed include Sean Hannity, Newt Gingrich, Gordon Liddy and novelists such as Michael Connelly, Steve Berry, Janet Evanovich, Alex Berenson, and many more.
