The battle over the age restriction of the multi award winning film Inxeba continues in the high court in Pretoria today. The producers want the court to overturn a decision by the Film and Publications Board which has classified it as pornography. The court granted an order with the view of allowing the parties to return today for comprehensive submissions. Traditional groups have been up in arms saying the movie portrays the Xhosa culture of initiation in a bad light. The film was reclassified to 18 after an urgent interim interdict brought by the producers. They are now asking the court to review the initial decision of the Appeals Tribunal and classify the film with a 16 age restriction.
