This is according to Megan Schossow of the Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center. She shares simple steps to prevent a fire. 1) clean up that dust and debris 2) make sure your chemicals, fertilizers, oils and other flammable liquids are put away in a safe place 3) check extension cords; check wiring to make sure it's up to code 4) make sure your heat source is up-to-date and running safely.
