So when gas prices go up, ethanol becomes attractive to blenders. He can't predict where prices are going to go. Ethanol producers are facing high input costs of their own between corn, chemical, enzyme, transportation, parts and natural gas that all goes into producing ethanol. In other news, the corn crop looks comparable to last year's great crop.
