The ongoing legal battle between Wesley Neumann, the former principal of Heathfield High School, and the Western Cape Education Department (WCED) had another ruling On 23 February 2026, the Labour Court dismissed Neumann’s urgent application to be immediately reinstated pending the outcome of the WCED's appeal. The court found that Neumann failed to prove he would suffer "irreparable harm" if he remained out of his post while the appeal process continued.
