Ivor Chipkin, Director of The New South Institute spoke to Saskia about the Public Service Amendment Act, 2025 which was signed into law on 26 March 2026. This legislation represents one of the most significant overhauls of South African government administration since 1994, specifically designed to professionalise the public service and curb political interference.
