Parliament’s Police Committee is formally launching an inquiry into gang-related crime and violence, with preparatory meetings on terms of reference held on 6 May 2026. The investigation, focused on gang economies, illegal firearms, and extortion in provinces including the Western Cape and Gauteng, is expected to conclude by the end of September 2026.
