Last week Friday (26 July 2024), both the Companies Amendment Bill and the Companies Second Amendment Bill were signed into law.These changes seek to promote the ease of doing business and impose greater corporate transparency on the earnings gap between the highest and lowest paid persons in a company. However, these amendments are not yet in operation and will only come into operation on a date or dates fixed by the President by notice in the Government Gazette.André de Lange, Sector Head, Corporate & Commercial Law at CDH
