The evictions and sale of Communicare properties have been ongoing. Already 17 families living in the Ruyterwacht social housing units were recently evicted.  Brooklyn and Milnerton social housing units have also been sold and the tenants were removed.No alternative accommodation was offered. Another four properties were auctioned off, with existing tenants still occupying. These units will be served with imminent eviction.Kashiefa Achmat , Housing Assembly Chair termed the evictions as 'forced removals' and 'our own case of genocide'.
