Are we due for another women’s month to Parliament: Deep Dive with Daniel

View descriptionShare

Are we due for another march to parliament?  This is the question being posed by Clinical Psychologist Daniel den Hollander as we celebrate and reflect on Women’s month today.

The last notable Women's March was in September 2019 outside Parliament in Cape Town. At the time, women from across the country marched to parliament dressed in black and purple in commemoration of those who lost their lives in August, the deadliest month for violent crimes against women the country has ever seen. According to official figures at that time, more than 30 women were killed by their spouses (or people known to them) in one month including Saadiqa Newman, Meghan Cremer, Lynette Volschenk, Leighandre Jegels and Uyinene Mrwetyana to name a few.
