Clement Manyathela comments about the agreement between Action SA and the ANC that the finance minister would rework his budget to remove the VAT hike before it’s implemented on the 1st of May. He argues that it’s impractical for the VAT to be taken away before the 1st of May given that parliament is on recess and that some ANC leaders and others partners of the GNU have accepted the reality of vat as a “temporary measure” .
