Clement Manyathela speaks with Public Service Commission Chairperson, Prof Somadoda Fikeni, about a Sunday Times investigation that has revealed that government departments and state-owned entities have quietly funnelled nearly R70bn in public funds to service providers, often without competitive bidding or external oversight, by extending contracts beyond their original expiry dates and repeatedly adding millions to their original value.
