Frank Mitchell and Tim May sit down with Mary Rolle, Frederick County’s Register of Wills, joins the conversation to explain the important role her office plays in helping families navigate wills, estates, and the probate process.

With a background spanning 14 years in parole and probation, work at a detention center, 25 years teaching at Frederick Community College, and experience as an Orphans’ Court judge, Rolle brings a wealth of knowledge to her current position.

During the discussion, Rolle explains why having a will is so important, how the Register of Wills office helps families settle estates, and why she encourages residents to seek professional legal guidance rather than rely on generic online will kits. She also highlights the office’s efforts to educate the public, including partnering with Frederick Community College for a pro bono day that helps residents access free legal assistance for simple wills.

Rolle shares a personal message during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encouraging everyone to stay current with their annual mammograms and prioritize early detection.
