Frederick's First-Ever Climate Summit

On Mid-Maryland Live, Tim May and Frank Mitchell continue their open invitation to candidates from any party to come on the show and talk about their races and the policies they’re running on. This time, they welcomed Louisa Conklin, a candidate for Frederick County Council District 1.

Conklin joined the program to discuss why she decided to run, the priorities shaping her campaign, and what she believes are the most important issues facing residents in District 1 and across Frederick County. It was a thoughtful conversation giving voters a chance to hear directly from another candidate in the race.

Louisa Conklin, Candidate for Frederick County Council District 1

On Mid-Maryland Live, Tim May and Frank Mitchell continue their open invitation to candidates from any party to join the show and talk about their races and the policies they’re running on. This time, they welcomed Spencer Rhoda, who is running for Maryland Delegate in District 9A.

Rhoda, who was born and raised in Maryland, has spent much of his life in the region, living in Montgomery County for 25 of his 40 years. Now residing in Damascus with his wife, he works as a real estate broker and shared what motivated him to enter the race, along with the issues he believes are most important to voters in the district.

Dr. Thiam, a behavioral health specialist and Republican leader, made history as the first Black Republican woman to serve in the Maryland General Assembly, representing District 2B in Washington County after being appointed by Governor Larry Hogan in 2020. During her time in Annapolis, she focused on issues including education, family law, and public safety. On the show, she discussed why she’s running statewide and the priorities she believes Maryland should be focusing on moving forward.
