The midterm election two years ago saw a historic turnout of young Michigan voters. Experts say that's thanks, in part, to a 2022 ballot measure to protect abortion rights in the state constitution. This year, reproductive rights aren't on the ballot in Michigan. But it's still an issue guiding how many Gen Z are voting this fall. What the Vote? reporter Yesenia Zamora-Cardoso asked young voters how they're thinking about and mobilizing around abortion access this election.

There is an organizing powerhouse with a proven record behind VP Kamala Harris beyond the Democratic Party. The Divine Nine. Harris is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, one of nine sororities and fraternities that serve as a lifeline for Black students on college campuses and beyond. On this episode of What The Vote? reporter Aaron Bush looks at the historical and societal forces that bring Black students together in collegiate settings, and how those forces could be a motivating factor this election.
