Sports Night Amplified with Andile on Metro FM, it’s Throwback Thursday as we reflect on the remarkable career of one of South African boxing’s most respected warriors.
Xolisani “Nomeva” Ndongeni, also known as “The Wasp,” built a legacy with an impressive record of 33 wins and 8 losses, including a flawless 25-0 run early in his career.
A former IBO lightweight champion, WBA Intercontinental titleholder, and Premier Boxing winner, Ndongeni’s aggressive, stinging style earned him national and international recognition — despite never receiving the prize money he fought for.
Following his retirement in November 2025, after a bout against Jhon Orobio, we look back at the highs, the setbacks, and the legacy of a true South African boxing icon.
