Social media usage continues to grow more and more by the day with Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp and Tik Tok leading the pack globally. However as we continue share, like and comment, these companies are able to collect all kinds of data on their users. In the U.S, there’s a looming ban of Tik Tok based on debatable fears about privacy. However similar concerns remain about most of the other platforms. So in South Africa what does the law say and should there be more regulation?
