Former Joburg Mayor Herman Mashaba has announced his candidacy for mayor of the country’s economic hub - the City of Johannesburg in the upcoming local government elections. Mashaba was the city’s mayor between 2016 and 2019 under the Democratic Alliance (DA) ticket. Mashaba term was cut short when he resigned from the positions due to differences he had with the DA.
