The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has turned down an application by the Islamic State of Africa to register as a political party, citing serious procedural and constitutional concerns.
Chief Electoral Officer Sy Mamabolo announced the decision this week, stating that the application failed to meet key requirements under South African electoral law.
