Dr John Hlophe - Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly & Deputy President of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party. Hlophe was the first black judge appointed to the bench in 1995 and also the first who came from an academic background. In 2000, he became the judge president of the Western Cape High Court. His story has since been bumpy over the last almost two decades. This year alone, he went from being an impeached judge by parliament, only to become a member of parliament and the
leader of the opposition months later.
