Former Gauteng health MEC Dr Bandile Masuku said he is appealing a finding by the ANC provincial disciplinary committee that he brought the party into disrepute over his role for the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE). Recently, Dr Masuku lost a court
bid to set aside a report by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) which found that he knew about his department’s irregular procurement processes and failed to execute his functions in compliance with the constitution and Public Finance Management Act.
