Former presidential candidate Donald Trump has confirmed his presence at the memorial service for Officer Jonathan Diller, a 31-year-old New York Police Department member who tragically lost his life during an active assignment in Queens earlier this week. Officer Diller, a devoted family man, is survived by his wife and their one-year-old son. While performing a routine traffic check, the officer was fatally shot by a 34-year-old man, identified as Guy Rivera, in violation of parking a vehicle in a bus zone.

During the tragic encounter, Rivera shot Diller in the abdomen, the bullet penetrating beneath his protective vest. Diller's colleague immediately retaliated, striking the attacker in the back. After the perpetrator was immobilized, desperate efforts were made to speed Officer Diller to Jamaica Hospital.

In spite of the speedy response from his fellow officers, Diller could not survive the severity of his injuries. Rivera, who holds a criminal record of 21 previous arrests, was also transported to Jamaica Hospital and is currently reported to be in a stable state.

Police Commissioner Edward Caban of the NYPD mourned the loss of Officer Diller in an official announcement. 'The weight of grief lies heavy on our hearts, as we pay our respects to our departed comrade, Police Officer Jonathan Diller. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and take solace in their pain as we grapple with this insurmountable loss,' he said.
