They boldly claimed that the White House had neglected the very principles of the rule of law, and in doing so, had reshaped the landscape of American politics in a manner contrary to nation's values.

The group asserted, 'As the Senate Republican conference, we find it unacceptable to assist this White House in its effort to divide this great country.' Their vow was three-fold: not to support any increase in funding for non-security matters for this administration or any budget bill that funds partisan lawfare; not to vote in favor of the political and judicial nominees of this administration; and not to facilitate hasty endorsement and passing of Democratic legislation that doesn't pertain directly to the American people's safety.

The conviction of Trump played out as previously reported by the DC Enquirer, with Trump being found guilty on all 34 alleged accounts of falsifying business records. In the aftermath, Trump made clear that his struggle for justice was far from over. He asserted to the press that this trial was nothing more than an attempt to meddle in the elections.
