A Republican senator is urging for a thorough examination of Hunter Biden's legal team in response to a judge's accusation that one of the lawyers misrepresented herself to court officials. Senator Pete Ricketts, representing Nebraska, expressed his concerns to Fox News Digital.

District Judge Maryellen Noreika recently issued a warning of potential penalties against Hunter Biden's attorneys, suspecting that Jessica Bengels from Latham & Watkins had deceived the Clerk's Office about her identity and affiliation in an effort to remove a significant document from President Biden's son's ongoing criminal tax case.

The order noted that Bengels had called the clerk's office to associate herself with lawyers associated with the House Republican Ways & Means Committee, which has also been investigating Hunter Biden. In response, Hunter Biden's legal team acknowledged an unfortunate and unintentional miscommunication within their firm.

Senator Ricketts called for ethical investigations into Bengels and lead lawyer Christopher Clark, who are licensed to practice in New York and Washington, D.C., respectively, in light of the plea agreement between Hunter Biden and U.S. attorneys that recently fell through.
