Former Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott testified on Wednesday that when Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas entered power with President Biden's administration, allowing more migrants to cross the border into the U.S was his only concern. Scott testified in front of the House Homeland Security Committee during a hearing that was focused on Mayorkas’ alleged 'dereliction of duty.' Mayorkas knew what effect his policies would have, and he is not incompetent, according to Scott. Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla. asked Scott if Customs and Border Patrol agents had advised Mayorkas and told him that he needed to reverse his policies to stop the migrants from coming to the United States. Scott responded that he was informed verbally and in writing.
