I bet the educators in Carrie also wanted to set everything on fire.

In this episode (with spoilers), I explore Mike Flanagan's Carrie (2026), and its portrayal of mental health within schools.

I talk about:
How Carrie is Mike Flanagan's take on Mean Girls (and why that's important)
How Carrie Red is The Burn Book for 2026
The intense emotional labour of Principal Grayle, Ms. Desjardins, and Guidance Counsellor Mr. Morton
The state of educator mental health
How educators are being traumatized by their work, and what we need to do to better support them
How the 5 of wands tarot card shows what happens in the disastrous attempted mediation between Chris and Carrie

Mental Health is Horrifying is hosted by Candis Green, Registered Psychotherapist and owner of Many Moons Therapy, and is proudly produced in partnership with iHeartRadio Canada.
