As Memorial Day approaches, the purpose of the day has been replaced by barbeque, beer and pool side parties. We will not forget why America takes this day to spend time remembering those who put country and freedom first and in doing that, have sacrificed so much. Boy Scout Troop 27 member Wesley from Bartlett, Tennessee spent some time to educate everyone on the protocol & process of retiring The American Flag. The flag placement ceremony at the National Cemetery happens every year on the Saturday before Memorial Day.  Volunteers are encouraged to help place flags on all 42,000 + gravesites at the National Cemetery on Jackson Ave. in Memphis.
