Maita Yávës - Award-winning VCASS Vocal SextetMaita Yávës is a sextet comprised of promising, young, classical singers from the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. Since coming together in February 2024, under the tutelage of Carrie Barr, they've performed extensively including an appearance as guest performers at the Herald Sun Aria Finals Centenary concert. They achieved first place at the renowned VCASS Chamber Music Competition and sang as soloists in their school’s major season concert, Choral Fantasy. As a group, they enjoy exploring and experimenting with repertoire to create unique blends, harmonies and emotional content.
Maita Yávës' singers are Bella Hincksman, Neeharika Shyju, Lucy Nieuwesteeg, Jihun Hwang, Jinhao Guo and Lucas Calzado-Yubero.
In this recital, Maita Yävés come together one last time to present a compilation of their favourite works sung this past year. Joining them as associate artist is fellow classmate Roy Gao.
