The Northern Lights School Division hopes a new Bachelor of Education program in Pinehouse will help solve long-standing teacher shortages in the community. 

The four-year program will allow students to earn their teaching degrees close to home beginning this September.

People who need identification to secure employment, open bank accounts, access government programs, or file taxes will have an opportunity to get help at the upcoming Super ID Clinic hosted by the Prince Albert Grand Council (PAGC).

The clinic will take place on Thursday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1211 First Avenue West in Prince Albert and is open to anyone who needs assistance obtaining identification or navigating government services.

One of the biggest barriers many people face when applying for jobs is a lack of valid identification.

Kelcy McDougall says to help address that issue, the clinic will cover the costs of several essential forms of ID, including birth certificates, Social Insurance Numbers (SIN), Saskatchewan health cards, and status cards.

Passport services will also be available, although passport fees are not covered.
