The English River First Nation and their supporters are speaking after ground penetrating radar mapped over 90 possible graves at the site of a former residential school in Beauval. Leaders from the First Nation were joined by other Indigenous leaders at a media conference in Saskatoon to talk about the search results. Among the leaders in attendance was Federation of Soverign Indigenous Nations Chief Bobby Cameron who offered support on behalf of his organization.

This is according to Ken Coates, professor emeritus at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. Coates spoke with MBC about the FSIN's legal action.

Indigenous leaders say the federal policy and provincial legislation are both unlawful.

Indigenous leaders are speaking out about the results of a ground penetrating rader search at the former site of the Beauval residential school. Recently leaders hosted a media conference in Saskatoon to talk about the results of the ground penetrating radar search which indicated over 90 possible graves. Among the leaders in attendance was Metis Nation-Saskatchewan Vice President Michelle LeClair who spoke on behalf of the MN-S.
Prince Albert Grand Council Chief Brian says the Natural Resources Transfer Agreement needs to be challenged as it has far reaching effects on Indigenous lifestyles. A constitutional challenge is being launched on that and the Saskatchewan First Act. Hardlotte says at one-point the NRTA blocked trapping.
