Ric Salizzo does seem to have done it all in the world of media and professional sports. He played rugby in Italy, was the All Blacks first ever media liaison, and until very recently was CEO of New York's professional rugby team.

He’s also been a journalist, TV presenter, and producer, most recognised for his role in producing and presenting the iconic sports chat show SportsCafe.

That’s now back. Well kind of… The aptly named Sportscafe-ish podcast features some of the original cast, including Marc Ellis, Leigh Hart, Lana Cocroft and of course Ric.

Hurricane Milton has made landfall in Florida, with winds hitting almost 200 kilometres an hour and over one million households without power. 

Tampa, St Petersburg, and Clearwater have already had 150 to 300mm of rain.

The Official Cash Rate has been cut to 4.75%. 

The Reserve Bank's lowered it by 50-basis points from 5.25% in a move predicted by economists.  

The bank says inflation's within its 1-3% target range and is converging on the 2% midpoint. 

It says economic activity is subdued, with weak business investment and consumer spending. 

Herald business editor at large Liam Dann told Matt Heath and Tyler Adams it's good news for borrowers.  

He says it's money in the pocket for mortgage holders and for businesses struggling with high debt. 

Banks have already begun cutting their home loan and lending rates.

He was also a star of the NZ Sevens Team and won a Gold Medal at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpar.

He’s now taken on the challenge of Celebrity Treasure Island, competing against 15 other well known kiwis to secure 100-thousand dollars for his chosen charity Brain Tumour Support.
