Acclaimed writer, director, and TV personality Jude Dobson is looking back on a memorable 2024 - the year she retold the story of World War II's last female spy.

 Phyllis 'Pippa' Latour worked undercover during the war and parachuted into occupied France in 1944 while on her mission - but she never informed anyone of her undercover feat.

Latour formed a bond with Dobson as she shared her story - and Dobson opened up about the experience.

The Black Dog Tavern is found down a country road off State Highway 2, in the small rural Tararua community of Makotuku, near Dannevirke.
