Mornings with Matt and Bob

This morning in the studio is packed! Not only do we have an audience of one, we have both interns in, and we have the one and only Jennifer Fonseca. The bickering between Jennifer and Bob is real and juicy. Chuy then continues stories from Hawaii and he shows a video of him swimming with the manta rays. Next we have a special guest come in and give a generous gift to the interns. After that the guys send off intern Hailee as today is officially her last day at the station.

We welcome back Chuy with open arms! He regales us with his tales from Hawaii. We also get into The bob party that could turn roast. We also Welcome in John Robert Jew for his new skater documentary!

Bob kick things off with his heat-start oatmeal diet, then the guys share what shows they're watching right now. From there, it's a dive into AI, what it actually does for us and how we're learning from it. Matt jokes that it might be too late to teach intern Hailee how to ride a bike before she leaves, before Chuy interrupts his blanket segment with a surprise call. Eventually, Matt gets back on track and finally explains the hype behind the new blanket craze.

This morning the guys start off talking about their regrets that led them to reminisce on a certain item. We finally acknowledge that today is Cinco de Mayo and the guys get to talking about a certain tex-mex restaurant. Things then get TOXIC and our temporary toxic avenger Matt takes charge and poses some very toxic questions like “parents forced to take ownership and getting ticketed for their children’s mishaps and certain behaviors get you put into the stocks. Then we get the big news about the ACL line up and who we are excited to see.

We catch up with Chuy as he calls in while his Hawaii trip Comes to an end. Then Matt shares a wild story about what seniors did for Senior skip day at his high school. Then we ask listeners one simple question: what's the weirdest thing you've ever smoked out of?

This morning the guys get into a conversation about a product that Bob won’t be buying. Drew joins us and he gets riled up about things that irk him at the airport. The guys then start to have a poor Olympics competition about who’s story about growing up poor is the worst. This then turns into the guys showing off their unc status and remising on their childhood school lunch days.

This morning starts off with Bob hyping himself up for 10 minutes. Next the guys start to miss Chuy and wonder how he’s doing, like a true lover of his job the wonderful Chuy calls in to let the guys know how his trip has been. The guys then get into a conversation about protesting for May Day. Then Matt tells Bob about an email that he received that was not legit. Bob then gets the best news that he’s heard in a while.

It's day one without Chuy, and Isaac steps in, but things get off to a rough start when Bob refuses to do his stress test (for reasons we try to figure out). We get to know Isaac bit more, then dive into whether our jobs actually owe us anything. Later, Bob shares his plan to basically throw himself a birthday party, while we discover intern Hailee can't ride a bike, and somehow her mom's pet turtle steals a little spotlight. That leads to us planning how to teach he, and figuring out what kind of bike suits her best.

This morning we bid Chuy a farewell as her will be leaving for Hawaii. So that means this episode is dedicated to him! Before he leaves, he asks the guys some last-minute questions to help him prepare for his flight. The guys also rip him a new one and force him not to bring a certain item on the trip. Next things get TOXIC and our toxic avenger brings up Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson, which makes him pose the question “can someone of Klay Thompson status be loyal”.

We kick off the week with Bob throwing a tantrum, then break down where different age groups live in Austin. Chuy shares his trip to a collector store, which turns into everyone taking about what they collect. With just 2 days until Hawaii, Chuy's excitement is building as he walks us through his trip itinerary.

This morning Bob is out but that doesn't stop us from having fun! Matt lets us know that he’s going on a trip soon with some older ladies but they are having a tricky situation with transportation. Next our leaders in our country continue to prove how much of a joke they are. We watched a clip about RFJ jr now understanding percentages. This one texter was not happy about our “political talk” and we decide to call him. Then intern Celeste gives a one of a kind review of Drew’s Hinge (dating app) profile. Next we get into who’s the true Mexican which ends up with the guys taking all the phone calls and roasting people.

This morning Chuy lets the guys know that he went to the doctor and he got some big news. Matt gets into old Austin history as its Eeyore’s 60th birthday this weekend. Chuy and Matt continue their heated discussion about AI and how it going to affect the future. After Chuy gets into his review of the new Michael biopic which gets the guys talking about people who should get a biopic.

We kick things off with the new Michael Jackson movie and Chuy's excitement, then jump into Rock and Roll News, where Bob's roller skating past comes out, leading to the big question: does Matt owe him an apology? This morning is a rainy one. Matt starts off the show talking about jobs that he worked at when he was younger. Next Matt poses two questions for the guys “is it okay if someone parks in front of your house” and “is it okay if someone puts dog poop in your trash can”. Then things turn TOXIC and our toxic avenger poses the question “parents how do you get your children to be a hard worker”. This gets Bobs blood pumping and potentially gets him into hot water.

We kick off the week with Matt & Bob recapping their fancy little weekend getaway hanging out with THE Albert Brooks & Kevin Pollak, no big deal...Meanwhile, Chuy is in full pre-flight panic mode over his Hawaii trip, grilling the guys about TSA Pre-Check, travel prep, & yes...how he's supposed to get Xanax for the flight. It gets real, a little chaotic, & listeners call in with their very helpful advice

This morning is the second day of our moon tower comedy collaboration and Bob and Intern Celeste start off rocky. The guys then get into a conversation about an event that they are attending tonight, and Matt is in a bit of a pickle because he doesn’t have a suit that fits. Next, we have Dylan Carlino (@dylanpcarlino) and Shane Torres (@shanetorres) take over the show with slay queen mantra and straight maxing. After, we have Greg Warren (@grockwarren) and Andy Huggins (@andyhugginscomedy) come in with their unc and legendary mentality.   

It's the first day with our live audience of 100, and it's the perfect way to end off the week. Intern Hailee shares her POV from giving Intern Celeste a good scare, then comedians JJ Curry (@jjcurrycomedy) and Lukas McCrary (@hotfemalecomedian) stop by to talk about their sets at the Moontower comedy Festival. To top it all off, the hilarious Brad Williams (@bradwilliams) hits the stage and brings the house down, a kickoff you don't want to miss.

This morning Matt gets the ball rolling talking about how long the intro to the show is but he knows it’s a losing battle because the people love it. Then intern Celeste tells a story about how she thought she was getting fired from the station. Next Matt gets the guy who recently feel into a hole this past weekend to give us the inside scoop. Things then get TOXIC and our toxic avenger poses the question “is it okay to look up past crushes/exes while in a relationship?”. Lastly Steve Wertheimer joins us in the station to talk about cars and the lone star round up.

This Monday the guys talk about the phones getting banned and places around Austin going no-tech. Chuy shares his experience at the long-awaited George Strait concert, then things take a turn with a wild debate and a North Texas prostitution scandal.

This morning the conversation goes a bit everywhere but isn’t that everyday? Bob is still away on his trip so its just Chuy, Matt, Drew, intern Celeste, and our audience of 1. While Matt is taking over rock n’ roll news intern Celeste asks “who’s the Tool?” and she gets a bit of a history lesson. Then Chuy starts to drift away from the regular rock music and starts going verse for verse on top country music. Next the guys talk about aging, doctors offices visits, and colonoscopy. Drew was so polite to share his bit “kick off confessions’ where we had people call and text in to confess their secrets.   

Bob is out in Chicago this week. Drew comes in studio to cause havoc. We also try to help Billy Joe get a woman. We get into our long time door policy. Plus facts of the day theme is over. 

Today the guys ask the big question, are shopping malls cool again?, and dive into some nostalgia. Matt goes on a rant about "bowl culture" (putting every meal in a bowl), while Chuy and Intern Hailee try to convince him otherwise with some new food trends. Later, Kevin Pollak calls in ahead of hosting albert Brooks, and the guys get a chance to chat with him.

This morning the guys get into a people pleasing and why they need to get better at saying no to things. Bob then gives his flowers to “Jury Duty presents: Company Retreat” (on Amazon Prime). Matt on the other hand hasn’t been able to enjoy the show due to his wife. Next, we have a caller who’s not so sober lets the guys know how much he loves the show. Things then get TOXIC and out toxic avenger poses the question “do you have a past secret that you had from your partner and is that okay?”. Where we have one caller allude to her secret. Lastly we end off the show with jams where we touch a bit on bowl culture and talks of Chuy starting a food review channel.

The guys start with their 4-year anniversary lunch from Friday, then get into a funny Easter mix-up from Matt's wife that still has them hungry. Then it's on to can we curse now, and who breaks first? things get real as they wonder if Chuy's in a midlife crisis, leading to a bigger convo about smoking, memory, and are we all starting to forget things.

This morning the guys start off the morning talking about Easter coming up this weekend and what plans they have. Then we have Actor/voice actor, host, and comedian Chris Hardwick join us early at the station where he talks about us about being a dad, his past work, and nerding out about things that he loves. Then Chris stays with us for the rest of the show to play a game of this or that hosted by intern Celeste. Then Matt brings up a hidden gem of peak dating show history that Chris hosted tilted “Shipmates”.  

It’s a rainy morning today and Bob and Chuy start the conversation off about slick roads; Chuys trip to Hawaii and his concerns about flying. Next the guys get into the launch of Artemis 2 that happened last night. Chuy is having a hard time understanding why this is so impressive if we’ve done it before. Then Matt shows a video of a Latino guy getting dogged on after saying that Bill Millers tacos are the best. This gets the people going about how good the tacos are and which places in the city have the best breakfast tacos.

The show kicks off with Kristi Noem husband's controversy, which somehow teaches us a new word. Then it's all about burgers. What makes us a good one, can we still innovate, and are there just too many burgers spots in Austin? We wrap things up by starting rumors, sharing rumors, sharing some from our own workplace, and sharing the wild one callers have to offer

This morning was a wild one, radio tower line got cut so people could only listen to us via streaming (KLBJFM.com). The guys decide to work less (isn’t that everyday tho). Drew joins us in the room to give us some updates and then the guys get into a conversation about the apocalypse and survival. The guys get into some dad talk about lawn mowers and this gets them watching videos about a guys turning lawn mowers into go karts. Then things get TOXIC as our toxic avenger brings up the topic of personality or looks.  

A fun way to kick off the week, and yes, we need you to clap please The guys get into Tiger Woods talk and ask the big question: Could a recession actually be good for us? A little bit of scandal, a little bit of real talk, and a classic start to the week.

This morning Bob is in his sassy era; he came in with a bit of an attitude because he had a headache. The guys then get into a conversation about “Age of Attraction” and that gets Bob going because he feels like his wife Jennifer is gonna leave him when he gets old and prune. Next intern Celeste brings up the topic of “sassy man apocalypse” and “passenger princess” in height of Bobs behavior this morning. Next, we had the wonderful Curtis Cook joins us at the station who will be performing at the Red Room at Cap City comedy tonight at 9:45pm. They talk about living in LA, his upbringing, and the changes within the Austin comedy scene.    

This morning the show is stacked with amazing guest. The usually brave Matt and Bob are a bit nervous for today’s interview with Albert Brooks. They are unsure which interview route they should go when talking to Brooks. Next the guys wanna back into bowling after not playing for a while. The big moment is here THE Albert Brooks joins the guys on the phone, they get to talking about his upcoming show “An Evening with Albert Brooks” at the Paramount Theater on April 18th, his upbringing, past work, and a overall a good laugh with the guys. Next, we have Alan Stulberg of Handbuilt show and Revival Cycles workshop joins us to talk about his show being held at CODA (Citrus of America) this year and what he’s been up too this past year. After we end the show with Matt telling a story about him and his daughter and the worst food experience he’s had in Austin over his 36 years of living here.

Bob convinces the guys to check out a new bowling show, then they try to figure out what a certain video has them laughing so hard. Comedian Doug Mellard stops by to talk about his shows at the Velveeta Room this Saturday (8 & 10PM), and the surprise opener you definitely know. Later, intern Hailee reveals her #1 favorite movie while the guys throw out some recommendations, and the show gets interrupted by an unexpected butt dial from Tesla Dan that everyone gets to hear

This morning Bob shares with the guys that a milestone has been reached on his YouTube channel (UnitedStatesofAnlog) has officially hit 40k subscribers! Next Matt brings up a news story about a quadruple amputee cornhole champion being accused of murder and shows us a video that proves that if one puts their mind to it they can do it. Then Bob brings up the conversation about March Madness and if it makes him less than a man for not caring about college basketball. Then things turn TOXIC and out toxic avenger asks some tough questions like “do married couples have a exit strategy” and “any tips for the long game and is it worth it”.

It's a slower, classic Monday show. Matt kicks things off talking about San Antonio, then the guys dive into the current airport dilemma. From there, it's haircuts and marijuana talk, which leads to the big question, will Chuy actually stop smoking? We wrap things up with Chuy sharing how his lunch with Tesla Dan went.

Today is St. Patrick’s Day and all the guys are wearing green besides Matt. This gets the guys to start talking a little bit about the history about St. Patty’s and Irish rock artist. Next the guys get into bob’s flicker account to take a walk down memory lane in his and Matts trip to Dublin. And boy oh boy does Bob have some incriminating pictures. Things then get TOXIC as our toxic avenger poses a couple of questions to the guys, “Women aren’t marrying their first choice”, “men’s best day of their lives isn’t marriage and kids”, and “can you be in love with more than one person”.  

Chuy Returns! Bob and Chuy run a joke into the ground. Then we get updated on the shirt contest on KLBJFM.com. Bob gives his opinion on the Oscars last night.

This morning Matt has a bone to pick with one of the valet guys and their managers as they downplay the fact that they broke Matts wife car window controller. Next we get into Pixar’s new movie “Hopper”, ZYN pouches, and Bob potentially wanting to try THC drinks to be a bit happier. Then we have Travis Holp who is a median which is an individual believed to act as an intermediary, communicating with sprits of the deceased or other non-physical entities. He joins us in the station to talk about his upcoming show at Cap City tonight. Travis also gives a reading to Bob, Rosa, and one of our listeners. After we have Drew pop in to talk about ghosts.

This morning Chuy is out, and Sawyer is in taking control of the board.  Matt brings up a story about AI medical chat bots recommending people to shove garlic in their rectum. Then we get into SXSW dying, is it trying the end or does Austin not like helping their own community. Next Bob and intern Celeste gets into Netflix’s new show “Age of Attraction” . After Matt heads out early and intern Celeste takes over by hosting a contest for Bob to see if he can guess where these pop culture movie quotes come from.

Bob rolls in late before Click Click Boom with Matt talking Austin's best sandwiches. Intern Hailee explains the hair signals some girls use, which quickly turns into a very honest masturbation conversation with the guys. Chuy also announces a big trip he's going on. Later, author Daniel Bukszpan joins to talk about his book & some rock history, plus we give away AC/DC tickets &Intern Hailee reveals her #2 movie pick

This morning was a rocky one. Matt and Bob walked into the studio this morning and noticed a situation in the parking lot. This led to the two having a bit of a squabble about what truly happened. Next Matt thinks about getting rid of his car. Unfortunately, the cat hasn’t been acting like himself recently leading him to needing to go to the vet. Matt is then shocked by the cost, causing him to think about getting rid of him. Then our intern Celeste brings up the topic of hard launching and soft launching. This gets everyone getting TOXIC as our toxic avenger brings up Netflix’s new show “Age of Attraction” which shows men and women of drastically different ages dating for potential marriage. After we end off the show with Jams with Dennis Rodmen, men on Reddit showing off their rooms, and Ubers new women only option.

It's a pretty mellow one today. We kick things off with Click Click Boom, then roll into Rock & Roll News & Talk about the latest Daylight Saving time changes. From there the guys get into a wild idea, what if the show was broadcast from a boat? Later, Matthew from Austin American-Stateman stops by to talk about some of the best restaurants in Austin where you can eat for under $20

This morning the guys recap yesterday’s lunch with Kandace Medina at Long John Silver. Then as Matt gets into CLICK CLICK BOOM they chat about dramedy M*A*S*H. Next Matt shows the guys an article about the retail store Target and how they plan on making some big changes to bring back customers. Then the guys have a surprise for our interns Hailee and Celeste where they play a game called “Clock It”. After we have book author of “Original Sin Is A Lie” Bob Peck joins us at the station to talk about his book and have a spiritual conversation with Bob Fonseca.

This morning the guys touch on a bit about what’s been going on in the real world with wars, then they get into a report about what it takes to be classified as middle class in Austin. Next the guys get into what job they would have after getting fired from KLBJ and ask the listeners what their new jobs would be. After we have local Austin comedian Kandace Medina (@chunkerknugget on Instagram) joins us for a great conversation about her show “BANANA PHONE!”, whales, and a bit of a heated argument with Chuy.

Bob starts the show with a therapy update, then we dive into the T-Shirt contest & judge a fresh design. Matt's bizarre radio dream sparks a wave of listener calls pitching new segments (& reviving old ones). We're joined by @djlefty to talk hidden Austin gems, then CJ from Anchor Bar rolls in with wings, the origin story of the Buffalo wing, and a tease of a new flavor. We close it our with Hailee's next Top 4 movie pick. Fast, funny, & fueled by hot sauce 

Today Bob shows the guys some love because deep down he truly loves the guys. He just doesn’t like admitting it. Bob brings in a very nice hat for Chuy to try on for him to use at the George Strait concert. Next things get TOXIC and our toxic avenger poses the question “does the power dynamic change if the woman owns the house or the man?”. After we get into jams of the day were the guys react to the CEO of McDonald’s trying their new burger.

Today the guys break down some of the Austin news from the weekend, then announce the station's T-Shirt design contest that you the listeners can design and share what kind of designs they're hoping to see. They also get into the 290 bridge gap conversation before wrapping things up with a round of "Do You Know Your Meats?', quizzing a few ladies for a chance to win Journey tickets.
