In episode #1970, we talk about the value of bringing remote workers together. Even though both Eric and Neil have set up well-defined structures for remote working in their businesses, they still make sure their teams get to meet up in person regularly. Tuning in, you’ll hear about the importance of human connection in business success and the role that in-person interactions play in this.

Let's start leveling up your marketing knowledge with your instructors, Neil Patel and Eric Sue. All right, guys, before we start, we got a special message from our sponsor. If you want to rank higher on Google, you gotta look at your page speed time. The faster website loads, the better off you are with Google's Core Vital update. That makes it super super important to optimize your site for low time. And one easy way to do it is use the host that Eric and I use, dream Hosts. So just go to dream host or google it, find it, check it out, and it's a great way to improve your low time. Today we are going to talk about why bringing remote employees together matter. So, Neil, how is your setup right now? Are you, guys eighty ninety percent remote? Hundred percent over ninety remote? Maybe like ninety five percent remote. We have a few like we work type offices where sales reps and other people can go into that they like, but majority is remote. Although we do get together at least a few times a year and it just helps everyone seeing on the same page and just set time to start planning on how we're going to improve as an organization going forward. Yep, same for us. So typically what we try to do is for actually once every quarter the leadership teams will get together and also once every month or so. So we have different hubs. We have people in Chicago, we have people in Florida, we have people in the LA area as well, so they will kind of get together and do like their own little we work thing. Even this past week, I was in LA I hang out for a little bit and I hung out with you know, we just kind of did like a working day at a co working spot and then just you know, I got some time with these team members and it was great. Right, nothing beats in person at the end of the day. It's human connection, right because even if you're remote first like we are, Zoom is kind of like a transaction, So you meet someone in person, you really can't take the relationship further. And if you have a stronger relationship, you're going to collaborate better, You're going to get things done at a higher level. And so that's why we have the ad hoc meetings with kind of the localized teams, and then the leadership teams will get together every quarter or so, and then two times a year they'll be like a big event, right to kind of just call it like a company a retreat type of thing where we might do some fun activities, eat together, maybe there'll be some interesting topics, right, maybe there'll be some kind of planning as well. Yeah, man, I mean humans are social creatures. And even though I'm an introvert, even though Neil's actually Neil's an extrovert and according to personality, but yeah, I mean, you still got to get out there and interact with people. Because I remember it just being in one of these entrepreneur groups. We were just doing zoom for like, you know, six hour zoom meetings, and I didn't really feel connected to these people until I met some of them in person. So again, at least to me, zoom is more of a transaction, Neil. And when you start getting to know people better on a personal level, and a lot of that happens in person, what you'll find is you end up generating way more or the people start working way better together, which then helps you start generating more revenue, more efficiency. All right, So that is it for today.
