So just go to dream host or Google it, find it, check it out, and it's a great way to improve your low time. Welcome to another episode of Marketing School. I'm Eric Sue and I'm Neil Battel, and today we're going to talk about our top performing blog posts and how they have this one thing in common. Neal, what is that one thing? It's called luck? You know, everyone's like, how do I create a top performing blog post? And Eric and I wanted to do this episode for one main reason. You know when people talk about going viral getting tons of traffic, did you know that Eric and I have no clue which one of our blog posts is going to be the best performing and going to rank that top of Google get the most traffic. We don't know that. But you know the one thing we do know is if we just continue to crank out content, eventually some of them are gonna hit and they're gonna be top performing. And our model is you just keep cranking out good content. Don't worry about what's going to be a hit or miss. You can do your cub research, you can share it on the social web, you can do your outreach, you can do your link building, and you should do all of that kind of stuff, but there's nothing you can do to control the hits or misses. So all you have to do is play the volume game and ensure that when you are cranking out the content that it is the best quality that you can create. You know what they say they say, the harder you work, the luckier you get. And you know or another thing they say about luck is this luck is really where opportunity and preparation end up meeting. So you know, the harder you work the luckier you get, you can say you're being consistent, and you find yourself you're doing the same consistent thing over and over. It's the same thing as when you're going to the gym. It's it's like you're not going to get one workout done and then boom you're you're like you know, Captain America or something like that. Right, it takes a lot of consistent effort over time, and then you have to put an even more superhuman effort because everyone else is going to the gym, everyone else is working out, right, So you know, how can you make sure that you are going to have a runaway like a home run success? Right? The only solution you have is to stay consistent. And so you know the question is, well, well, you know how do I do good content? Well, you know, you're out there, you're constantly reading, you're constantly getting better, you're constantly putting out content, and you're sucking in the beginning, you're getting the suckage out of your body. And then you know, when the timing is right, boom, you're gonna have a post that takes off. And then what you do is you really latch onto that post and you upgrade it as much as you can, you take care of it as much as you can, and you keep doing the same thing over and over and over. That's how the best bloggers become bigger and bigger and bigger. Yeah, and it doesn't matter who you are, whether you're Tim Ferris, Eric Sue, and Neil would tell Gary Vie, none of us can predict what's going to be top performing. But when something does hit, we milk it. We keep updating it, we make it better, and we do whatever it takes to make it last as long as possible, and we just keep going and going. Because what ends up happening is you get this quick blimp and then things go back down. But when they go back down, they're a little bit higher than they were before. So if you can keep producing those blimps by just creaking out quantity but of course trying to maintain the quality, eventually you're gonna be way higher versus when you first started off. I think you have to become, you know, numb to losing. Right in the very early days when I was blogging, my ego would get the best to me because I like, oh like, I just spent two weeks on this you know, oh, someone still wouldn't promote me, and why is this one not getting you know, thousands of visits or you know, hundreds of thousands of visits, right, and I'll be whining. It's like, dude, crime a river. What you have to do at the end of the day is you have to be numb to losing. You're gonna hit so many singles, right from using a baseball analogy, and every now and then you're gonna hit a grand slam and a home run. But even when you hit a home run or you hit a grand slam, that to you, you should still be even keeled. You just still be numb. You should feel just the same as hitting a single. Right. You can't get too high, you can't get too low, because that way you're gonna be You're gonna have the right demeanor and it's just gonna be consistent and boring forever. Because I'll tell you, Neil, how long have you been blogging? For? What? Seventeen plus years? Yeah? Too long to even count. I don't think it's seventeen. I know it's like more than like twelve or thirteen, but it's a long time. Yeah, that's a long time, right, but Neil is numb to the losses, just like I'm numb to the losses too. You got to make yourself numb to it and guaranteed you're gonna have an edge over everyone else. Neil, that's it.
