Welcome to Marketing School, the only podcast that provides daily top level marketing tips and strategies from entrepreneurs that practice what they preach and live what they teach. Let's start leveling up your marketing knowledge with your instructors, Neil Patzel and Eric Sue. All right, guys, before we start, we got a special message from our sponsor. If you want to rank higher on Google, you got to look at your page speed time. The faster website loads, the better off you are with Google's Core Vital update. That makes it super super important to optimize your site for low time. And one easy way to do it is use the host that Eric and I use, dream Hosts, So just go to dream host or google it, find it, check it out, and it's a great way to improve your low time. Today we are going to talk about how to build your YouTube channel to one million subscribers. So, as of this recording, Neil, how many subscribers are you at right now? I don't know. I'm checking right now. I was actually literally typing that in as we were doing this. I know I'm in the nine hundred ish range of eighty. Yeah, you're right, nine eighty, So you knew before me. Yeah. Yeah, So I'm at nine hundred and eighty. I'm guessing within the next month or two I'll hit a million subscribers at least. There you go. I'm going to break down pretty much how I did it. It's a really simple process. Eric broke down how to get to fifty thousand. Use that. There's a few tactics that help you get to a million, and they're not hard. And I'm going to give you the main three and that's it. I know it sounds very simple, but YouTube is very simple. It is not a complex like Google traditional SEO. So, first off, videos that do well in the first twenty four hours on YouTube tend to rank really high instantly and continually do well. So when you publish a video, make sure you do EMO blash, push notification blast, and push it hard in the first twenty four hours. If you do a push notification blast and EMAO blast, try to send the traffic to the YouTube page. It does better than when you send us somewhere else. Number two, Comments and engagement from comments mean more to YouTube than someone clicking a like button. So within your videos, ask questions. So let's say I'm creating a video on the latest Google algorithm update or Core algorithm update. I'd be like, leave a calm blow and let me know what happened to your traffic. Did it stay the same, did it increase, did it decrease? And if it increased your decrease let me know how much it went up or down by and what industry you're in, because if all of us leave a comment with this, we can all learn from each other. Right, that's example of a good question to ask that gets tons of engagement that helps your videos go more viral. The third thing is you gotta continually test. So there's two buddy check out two buddy. You can ab test your thumbnails. It works really well. On that one. You can do easy things like changing up the years on all the videos that you have, and I'll just do it automatically with a few clicks of a button. In case that you write titles that can encourage more people to click, you're talking about the next year in advance or the same year that you're in. But that's it. If you do those three things, and you also do the basics that Eric mentioned in the previous episode, over time you'll get to a million. And you should still do the other basic stuff like your keyword. Research to see what's popular on YouTube, what people are searching for. You should ideally try to create videos that are closer to the ten minute mark versus five minutes, because the longer people stay on YouTube, the better off you are. But take all the basic stuff, do that, and then do the three advanced things that I talked here on this video. If you just do those three things, I'm telling you'll eventually climb to a million. There's not much more to it other than that, all right, So that is it for today, and go to Marketing School the ioslash Live. That's live if you want to learn more stuff about how to grow your social channels at our live event in Austin in a couple of months. So that's it for today, catchu later.
