I'm Eric Sue and I'm Neil Patal, and today we're going to talk about how Spotify's new podcast dashboard is going to help you grow faster. So, Neil, you don't know about this yet, huh, I do not. I'm going to show you while we look at it. So Spotify just came out with a new dashboard for podcasters just to get a little more transparency into how things are going. If you go to podcasters dot Spotify dot com, you can actually submit your RSS feed and then you can basically your podcast should be submitted, and also you get better analytics here. So what we're seeing here on my screen is we in the last I don't know how long. There's a period of time here. Maybybe last seven days. Actually I don't think that's right, last seven days. Yeah, anyway, here's what I'm looking at sea, So last seven days is okay? If it's off, it says five hundred and sixty six thousand starts four hundred and forty five thousand streams, so five hundred and sixty six thousand starts. What a start means is actually someone actually clicked to begin a stream is actually when someone listens for sixty seconds. And then you also have a there's a listener account, and there's a follower account too. Follow account is how many people are actually subscribed to our podcast on I guess this is it through our RSS feed on Spotify, and then you know listeners. I'm clicking on the listeners right now, we have forty eight thousand right so basically how many subscribers forty eight thousand. No, we have twenty seven thousand followers. So a listener measures the number of unique Spotify users who started an episode in your catalog in the last seven days. I don't think this is a seven day like it says seven days here, but I actually think this is like probably like an overall, that's what it seems like. It's too high. Yeah, but here's what it is. Like. This is helpful to me at least, because five hundred and sixty six thousand people start four hundred and forty four thousand stream that's eighty percent. So eighty percent of the people that actually start a podcast actually listened for sixty seconds. We never knew that before. Yeah, and your numbers are going to be a lot lower probably, And the reason being is we have a five minute episode that's true, which we might extend. Hey, if you guys want us to extend the podcast, let us know. Let us know in the comments you want us to extend it a little bit. Yeah, And in general, like all this data and stats, so one thing you had to keep in mind with podcast stats, a lot of it's really inaccurate because it's like people could be downloading their episode on their partable iTunes player, iPhone player, and you don't necessarily know how well you're going to end up doing. I'm actually the follower growth. Yeah, the follower growth, it's not growing that fast. We'll give you like forty or fifty a day on Spotify. Yeah, it has to be lifetime because if you look at listeners, it's only five hundred and something so starts and ends. It's only roughly two thousand people are starting the podcast each day. But yeah, it's cool stats. And if you combine your check this out look sixty five percent male, thirty one percent female. That's better than like your YouTube channel, on my YouTube channel because mostly most of the times like eighty percent guys. Is it? Yeah, I haven't looked at my ear. We'll give you some demographic information here. So thirty eight percent of our audience is twenty eight to thirty four, fifteen percent thirty five to forty four, and then thirty percent are twenty three to twenty seven, so a large chunk are to twenty three to forty four range. And we have to actually have people eighteen to twenty two ten percent people listen to that. Oh and here. Here's what else they listen to. They listen to Drake, they listen to the Chainsmokers, and they listen to Ed ed Schurin Ed suren. I don't know how pronounce it, Ed Sharan, Yeah, no, super helpful data, you guys. Check it out. It's free. So if you have a podcasts check it out. Anything else you want to add, No, you're right about the gender. I've just pulled my YouTube sets. Eighteen percent our female, eighty two percent our mail. There you go. So that is it for today.
